D48002 1/48 SCALE - with full colour instructions Engaged in the Algerian conflict since 1954, teh aremee de l-Air needed a new specialised a/c to replace the agenig F047D Thunderbolts. In 1958 a deal was signed to purchase 113 decommissioned US Navy AD-4. Delivered crated by boat, in poor condition, these were reparied and converted by the SFERMA in Bordeaux between February 1960 & March 1962 before delivery to operational units in Algeria
